Need to create an invoice so you can get paid for freelance work? Want to keep track of your income and expenses?
Here you’ll find a simple invoice template to adapt and use when you need to get paid for your creative work, and a spreadsheet to keep track of, and plan, your incoming and outgoings.
All the text in green is to be replaced or edited to your own details and requirements. You can change the colour to black once you have.
It can be a good idea export your invoice as a PDF before you send it for payment, as this is a stable file format which can be opened on any system and the text and layout won’t change.
And how to title an invoice? Name the version of the file you send for payment with your name and the date, so as to avoid confusion.
And here’s a cashflow, or income & expenditure template, where you can record the money you’ve earned and the money you’ve spent on expenses for your creative practice.
Lastly, here’s a project planner template.
This is an Excel spreadsheet, in a Gantt chart format, which allows you to track progress and allocate tasks to multiple team members using colour coding, if you wish to. You can watch a cheesy but informative video about how to use a Gantt chart here
